The Lions played a much more experienced Eastmore Dragons side in the curtain raiser to the Featherstone Rovers v Warrington Challenge Cup game this sunday

With a much more positive attitude in the prior weeks training showing in this game with the young side learning quickly the Lions were again set an example by their MOM Reiss Butterworth taking the ball forward and linking up play with the backs, of note Harley Wilkinson having his 1st run out at full back showing promise with some good tackling and running out wide and never shirking a tackle

Prop forward Harvey Farrar again shone through his work rate overcoming a early arm injury early on to gain the hard yards helped by his opposite number Kane Easby having another solid performance with his running in the middle setting up play

Stand off Ryan Butterworth had a big game with his cover tackling stopping three certain trys in the process aided by centre's Kane Tonks had Ashley Ward who never took a backward step

TJ Parker after shaking off a big injury early on made good yards opening up the defense on numorous occasions helped by team mate Zach Burke with his strong running setting wingers Josh Haller and Luke France on their way out wide before being held up

The Lions were unlucky not to score being held up over the line on 2 occasions but can take plenty of positives from this game in which they lost little ball and have started to learn their defensive patterns

MOM Went to Reiss Butterworth for his constant tackling and Driving in off the ball
Magic Moment went Kane Tonks for his massive run down the wing going past 3 defenders and just being caught at the last hurdle 5yds out
Top Tackler was Ryan Buttworth for his cover tackling that stopped 3 certain tries
