Featherstone Lions 26 York Acorn 12
Featherstone Lions saved one of their best performances until the last game of the season with a magnificent team effort.
Despite going down to an early try, Lions responded to their pre-match talk and stuck to their guns, playing some good rugby in difficult conditions.
Good distribution from hooker Jack Waites let Ryan Jones and Ashley El Zebedi gain vital yards with good forward play.
Half backs Ellis Hobson and Jack Harris then dictated the attack with strong runs from Jordan Adams at second row.
The three quarters worked well with wing Matty Wallace breaking from dummy half; centre Liam Kay had a storming game along with Will Plimmer, each scoring a try with Kay adding a conversion.
Tom Beal came into the line well in attack after coming in to cover for full back Thomas Hatfield who went out onto the wing.
Lions interchanges worked well with Sam Megson, Robson Bell and Callum Coleman all adding to the mix, leaving Todd Morgan to came back into the game after a lay off to score two blistering tries.
Lions didn’t have it all their own way with big defensive plays again from Scott Lapish and loose forward Lawson Roberts who capped off a great personal performance with one try and two conversions.
