u18's - On the lookout for Players u16's - u18's - Rovers Sign MORE Lions playersROVERS SNAP UP EVANS & BALE
Featherstone Rovers have continued their policy of investing in youth with two more signings from their recently re-launched scholarship programme. Dave Evans and Mark Bale have put pen to paper and agreed 3 year deals, following on from the recent captures of James Kitchen and Jake Perkins. Both players join the club from local amateurs, Featherstone Lions where Dave is a back row forward and Mark a scrum half. Rovers Scholarship Manager and Junior Head Scout Robin Sharp said; "We are offering these lads what we believe is a great opportunity, we have identified their potential and we look forward to helping them with their development over the next few seasons. This will be the end of our recruitment in this window but we will look to add to it in May, if the right players are available. These are exciting times for the club, our aim and vision is to sign and develop quality young players from grassroots rugby into potential first team stars of the future" Rovers Head Coach Daryl Powell added; "Mark and Dave are two quality young people who we hope to help grow as professional athletes, they both have a strong work ethic and desire to reach their potential at the club. We have worked hard to develop the scholarship since I came to the club and hope that this shows our commitment to the young talented players in our area. The pathways are now in place to develop young athletes within our system from both a technical and physical perspective |
